In Loving Memory of Peggy "GiGi" Walker

Peggy Laizer Walker, a kind, welcoming, and selfless individual, passed away on January 24, 2024. Born on August 19, 1966, she was the beloved daughter of the late Henry Laizer and Barbara Vanzant. Peggy's love for her family was immeasurable, and she dedicated her life to raising her three children into the incredible individuals they are today.

Peggy was a woman of many talents. Throughout her life, she worked as a painter and carpenter, meticulously adding beauty to countless homes. Her attention to detail and creative spirit brought joy to the lives of many.

But it was during family gatherings that Peggy truly came alive. She cherished these special moments and reveled in the company of her loved ones. The holidays held a special place in her heart as she gathered everyone together to celebrate. No gathering was complete without Peggy's famous baked macaroni—a dish that will forever remind us of the love and warmth she emanated.

One of Peggy's greatest joys in life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Their presence filled her heart with boundless happiness. She delighted in their laughter and made every effort to foster a strong bond with each one of them. Taking part in their lives brought her indescribable joy and fulfillment.

In her free time, Peggy had a fondness for soap operas and would immerse herself in cheesy romance or action movies whenever possible. These simple pleasures provided an escape from reality and allowed her to indulge in captivating stories that whisked her away into other worlds.

Peggy will always be remembered for her great sense of humor; it could light up even the darkest room. She found solace in laughter and used it as a means to connect with others. Her infectious smile and quick wit were a source of comfort for those around her. No matter the circumstances, Peggy could be relied upon to bring warmth and a smile to those in need.

To honor Peggy's memory, a visitation will take place on February 2, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Harvey - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA, 70058. Following the visitation, a memorial service will also be held at the same location from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We invite all friends and family to join us in celebrating Peggy's remarkable life.

Peggy will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her surviving family and friends. She leaves behind her ex-husband Keith Walker; her loving children Brandon Walker, Kyle Walker, and Halie Walker; her mother Barbara Vanzant; her siblings Henry Laizer Jr., Connie Walker, Ryan Laizer, and Samantha Little; and her precious grandchildren Luke Walker, Kaison Walker, and Ellie Walker. May they find solace in knowing that Peggy's love will continue to guide them through life.

Peggy Laizer Walker touched the lives of many with her unwavering kindness and selflessness. Her legacy will remain etched in our hearts as we reflect on the beautiful moments she shared with us. Let us strive to carry forward her spirit of love and compassion as we remember and celebrate the remarkable life of Peggy Laizer Walker.
