Patrick Henry McCloskey Jr., a lifelong resident of Algiers, Louisiana, passed away on July 13, 2026, at the age of 73. Known to many as Pat, he will be remembered for his easygoing nature, intelligence, knowledge, dependability, wonderful sense of humor, and talent for cooking like a chef. He was a devoted son and brother, a loving husband, and a loyal friend.
Pat is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Lore; his siblings, Randy (Judy) and Kathy (late Johnny Loforte); and his loving in-law family, Kathleen Talbot Lore, Ricky (Season), Dennis, Katie, and Ann. He was also a loving uncle and great-uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and a cherished cousin to many.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Verona LeBlanc Fonseca McCloskey and Patrick Henry McCloskey Sr.; his siblings, Donald Fonseca (Marie) and Dianne Bertha McCloskey; his in-laws, Mary Kassing Lore and Gustave Joseph Lore Sr.; brothers-in-law David and Gustave “Buddy”; sisters-in-law JoAnn and Jane; nephew Travis Hatty Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Throughout his life, Pat maintained many lifelong friendships, including those with classmates from O. Perry Walker High School in Algiers, Class of 1973. He lived a full life and followed a varied career path that reflected his many talents. He began his career at Antoine’s, attended barber school, bartended at The Tavern and J & K Bar in Algiers, worked for several years as a deckhand at Boomtown Casino, and later ended his career with Dial One House of Doors, repairing garage doors throughout the area.
Pat and his family were grateful for the care and support provided by the employees of Family Home Care and Extreme Physical Therapy.
Services will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA 70114, 504-366-4343, on Friday, July 24, 2026. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at McDonoghville Cemetery.
