Patricia C. Williams

June 3, 1931 — July 1, 2022

Patricia (Patty) Caylor Williams entered her heavenly home on July 1, 2022. She was dearly loved by her husband, children, and many grand/great-grand children, nieces, and nephews.
Patty was born on June 3, 1931 in Bullock County, Alabama to the late D. Arnold and Mercer Nix Caylor. She grew up in the community of Suspension and the city of Union Springs, Alabama. After high school, she attended Auburn University where she was a majorette, member of Chi Omega sorority, and one of the first women to graduate from the School of Pharmacy (class of 1953).
Patty had an adventurous spirit and moved to New Orleans after graduation to start her pharmacy career at Baptist Hospital. There she met Si Williams, a fellow Auburn graduate and the president of Algiers Iron Works & Dry Dock Co. who became the love of her life. They married in 1956 and lived briefly in New Orleans before moving to Algiers and then to Belle Chasse where they raised five children.
Patty and Si embraced the New Orleans lifestyle and were involved with Alla and Bacchus carnival krewes, enjoyed many evenings of dinner and dancing at area restaurant venues, and attended countless art, theater, opera, and symphony events. Patty was a founding member and supporter of the New Orleans Audubon Institute. She was an avid bridge player and her club met monthly for 40 years. Patty enjoyed leading Girl Scouts, fishing and boating, visiting family in Alabama, traveling throughout the southeast, and making the annual beach trip to Gulf Shores, Seagrove, or Ft Morgan. She and Si also made multiple trips to England and France. In 1990, she traveled with her granddaughter Stacia on a 2-week adventure to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing to visit her daughter Kathy who was working in Hong Kong, China.
After putting her career on hold to raise children, Patty resumed her pharmacy career and worked at Sunseri Drug Store, Royal Street Pharmacy, and the Metropolitan Development Center in Belle Chasse. She retired in 2005 when the Center moved across the lake after Hurricane Katrina.
Patty was pre-deceased by her siblings (spouses) Col. Jennie Lee Caylor, Ramond (Wilma) Caylor, D. Arnold Caylor, and Virginia (Jack) Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Sewell “Si” Williams, sister-in-law Peggy Caylor and children: Jeanne (John) Lindsey, Linda (Timothy) Harvey, Kathy (Fuling) Chiang, Damon Williams, and Carol L. Williams. Grandchildren are: Stacia (Carden) Price, Eric (Lizbeth) Lindsey, Katherine Lindsey, Laura (Jorge) Straub, John (Natalia) Harvey, Joseph Harvey, Sean Chiang, Christine (Eric) Doi, and Stephen Landry. Her three great grandchildren are: Hanna Straub, Mia Straub, and Charitie Doi.
The family would like to express special thanks to caregivers Joanne Riley, Ceola Washington, and Brittany Gary.
