Patricia Schouest Hunter

Patricia has left the building to be with her one true love, Roy.  Their love was forever, married for 55 years.  What an incredible gift to each other to be able to go through good times and bad, always knowing they could make it, no matter what.  We know when Patricia reached heaven on February 27, 2024, at the age of 89 where Roy was waiting there for her, with Fats Domino playing Blueberry Hill for their first dance, hug, and kiss.

Patricia Schouest Hunter was a native of Bourg, Louisiana, and a resident of Marrero for 67 years.  Beloved wife of 55 years to the late Roy M. Hunter, mother of Tammy Anderson (Gerald), Dan Hunter (Laura) and the late Dean Hunter.  Proud grandmother of Lacie Pickard (Layton), Ashley Smith (Mike), Cody Hunter (Marisa), Alexandra Leto (Zack) and Abby Hunter.  Great-grandmother of Carter, Reese, Gavin, Sawyer, Henley, Marlowe, Weslyn, Luca, Maggie and Aria.  Sister of Numa Schouest and Mealie Davis.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roy M. Hunter; her parents Fortuna Schouest and Odette Rogers Schouest; six sisters, Clarice LeBlanc, Janice Daspit, Faye Schouest, Brenda Bateman, Geneva Marcel and Jody Schouest; and two brothers, Van and Gregorey Schouest.

Pat was an employee of Jefferson Parish School System, Department of Transportation as a bus monitor.  She also was an avid member of the Harvey Golden Age Club of Jefferson for 34 years.  She treasured sending out greeting cards to all her family and friends and loved playing Poko keno with all her nieces.

Relatives, Friends and members of the Harvey Golden Age Club are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Homes, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, March 6^th, 2024 from 9:00am – 1:30pm.  A Catholic Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel at 1:30pm.  Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.  For directions or to view and sign the online guest book, please visit www.mothefunerals.com.
