Patricia Ann Brandt Cognevich

Patricia Ann Brandt Cognevich, 81, died Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Mrs, Cognevich was a native of Port Sulphur, LA and lived in Belle Chasse.

Patricia worked as an E.E.G. Technician in surgery monitoring at West Jefferson Medical Center for 40 years. She had a fascination with history especially WWII, Gen. Patton and John F. Kennedy Jr. She had a veracious appetite for reading up to 5 books at one time. She loved to play chess and Mahjong, cook and watch movies. She was a member of the Bridge Club of Metairie, People Program, the EEG Society and CASA.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Hewitt L. Brandt and Anna C. Purgley Brandt, her son Kirk John Cognevich and her long-time companion Merrill R. Booth. She is survived by her daughter Alexandra M. Cognevich and former husband Elmo R. Cognevich, sister Judy B. Marshall (Daniel) and brother Daniel C. Brandt (Finance Carolyn).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA 70058 for a visitation. A memorial mass will be celebrated at in the Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Interment will immediately follow at Westlawn Memorial Park.
