Patricia Cooper Butscher, born on September 2, 1948, in Marrero, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.
A career governmental accountant, her life was marked by deep love for family, her church, and a legacy of kindness that touched everyone who knew her.
Born to the late Ilder Elliott Cooper and Edward Cooper, Patricia is survived by her children David Butscher (Janine), Karen Hansson (Hokie), and Michael Butscher; grandchildren Harriet and Henrietta Butscher and Jonathan and Ellen Hansson; and siblings Carol Dufrene, Sandy Broussard, and Edward Cooper.
The family would like to offer special gratitude to the medical staff at East Jefferson General Hospital and Passages Hospice.
Though the family mourns her passing, they also celebrate a life fully lived—a life of devotion, generosity, and steadfast love.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 at St. Fracis Xavier Catholic Church on Metairie Road at 11:00 with a Mass at noon. Internment at Westlawn Cemetery to follow.
