Norris Joseph Lirette

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norris Joseph Lirette on September 12, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1949 in New Orleans, LA and was a native of Marrero,LA.

Norris is survived by his adoring wife of 55 years, Pauline Vegas Lirette; his mother Ethel Terrebonne Lirette; his brother Allen Lirette; his sister Doris Vegas, and his beloved children Laurie (Brian), Shaye (Dominick), Aaron and Donald (Stella). He was the beloved Pappy to Devan, Shelby, Noah, Juliun, Isabella, Brayden, Sebastian, Amara, Raelynn and Caleb. Also left to cherish his memories is his childhood friend, Lee Bourgeois (Elaine).

He is preceded in death by his father Odrey “Buddy” Lirette; his father-in-law Cyril Paul and his mother-in-law, Jimmie Vegas; his sister, Yvonne Jochum; his sister-in-law, Hazel L. Vegas and his brother-in-law, Cyril “Joe” Vegas; and his nephew, Anthony Paul Vegas.

There is nothing Norris loved more than his family. He worked all of his life as a rig and pipeline welder. He was a member of Harley Davidson for 25 years. He loved his Harley Davidson and traveled far and wide with friends. He was also a member of God’s House. Above all he loved his girl, Pauline.

The family would like to thank Dr. Devin Bourgeois and staff, Thibodeaux Wellness Center and Rehabilitation, Terrebonne Home Care, St Catherine’s Hospice, Dr Simoneaux, and Dr. Dukovac for their outstanding care and love for Norris.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 at Mothe Funeral Homes located at 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Visitation will be from 11:30 until 1:30 pm. The funeral service will start at 1:30 pm followed by interment at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1255 Whitney Ave, Gretna, LA.
