Nicholas Ray Hollingsworth, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on March 8th, 1961, to the late Linda and Tommy Hollingsworth.

He is the husband of Paula Hollingsworth; the father of Nicholas Hollingsworth, Jr., Paul Hollingsworth, and Sean Hollingsworth; the grandfather of Bailey Hollingsworth, Paityn Hollingsworth, Lonnie Copeland, Jayden Hollingsworth, Bentley Hollingsworth, Lily Hollingsworth, and the late Niko Hollingsworth; and the brother of Thomas Hollingsworth, Brett Hollingsworth, Katherine Duran (Jack), Kenneth Hollingsworth (Lorrie), Lynn Ann Bratcher, and the late Matthew Hollingsworth and Amy Lynn Hollingsworth. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.

A native of Gretna, and proud resident of Gretna for over 35 years. Nicholas worked most of his life in the general construction field, mainly specializing in trim carpentry. 

Nicholas was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed star gazing and collecting matchbox and die cast cars. He had an extensive collection. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. Nicholas was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
