Ned Philip Naquin

November 21, 1944 — February 1, 2023

Peacefully surrounded by family at home, Ned Philip Naquin passed away February 1, 2023 at age 78 after a short, yet very courageous pancreatic cancer battle. Even in the midst of his battle, he remained positive, optimistic and expressed gratitude for every day that he was blessed to have with family and friends. Grace, integrity, poise, and humility are just some of his many admirable qualities. Ned is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate Ginger LaCour Naquin of 24 years that he adored deeply. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Rosalie Caballero Naquin and Iven Naquin Sr. He is survived by sisters Dolores Rodrigue (Rod), Becky Becnel (Keeter), Judy Richoux (Fred), brother Iven “Buddy” Naquin Jr. (the late Louise) and Godmother Cam Gradwohl. He is also survived by his children Christie, Brett, Jason Cardon (Jennifer) and Julie Cardon O’Neil (Jason) as well as his grandchildren that he adored — Addison, Everett, Christian, Austin, Aiden, Lailah, Jadon and Shayla. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Ned loved life and appreciated the simple things. Whether he was fishing, reading, listening to live music, playing with his grandchildren, watching the Saints and LSU football or dining out, he lived life to the fullest and loved all things New Orleans. A foodie and lover of great company, Ned was a true family man and a loyal friend.
Always first on the dance floor, he loved to dance with his wife earning the couple the name Ginger Rogers & Ned Astaire.

Ned graduated from Hahnville High School and Nicholls State University before teaching and coaching early in his career. He then began a career in the oilfield supply industry, where he met his wife Ginger. Together, Ned and Ginger began Petroquip Inc and built a successful business with one another for 18 years before retiring, where he remains well-respected in the industry. He was a native of St. Charles Parish and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA.

To honor his memory, a celebration of life will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 8970 LA-23 Belle Chasse, LA. All are invited to attend and remember his wonderful life. Visitation will be held from 12pm until Memorial Mass time at 1:30pm. Special thanks to nurse Gayle and the team at Compassus Hospice for your incredible care and compassion. In true Ned fashion with his giving heart, in lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to a cancer charity of your choice, St. Jude’s or to the SPCA, a cause that was dear to Ned’s heart.
