Millard "MJ" Perkins, Jr.

October 17, 1952 — June 27, 2025

In Loving Memory of Millard Louis Perkins Jr.

Please join us in remembering Millard Louis Perkins Jr., who entered into the promised land on June 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his home at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family

Millard was born to Millard Louis Perkins Sr. and Marilyn Adams Perkins. He lived in Lafitte, Texas, before returning home to Louisiana. During his time in Lafitte, he worked for his father-in-law as a mechanic on crew and tug boats. He later became a mechanic for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where his exceptional work and numerous achievements earned him a promotion and transferred to the Lake Whitney Power Generating Dam in Texas.

Millard had a heart for God and people. He didn’t just talk about his faith, he lived it.

Millard who his friends also called him MJ, Boudreaux, Buckwheat, Joe and Jay had a passion for deer hunting and buying and selling classic show cars. He loved participating in the Cruisin’ the Coast car shows and spending time with his loved ones. His favorite car was his Pontiac Catalina, and his favorite band was The Rolling Stones. He never met a stranger and was known for his kind and friendly spirit.

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Adams Perkins.

Loving brother of Shelia Cardinal (Lenny), Pamela Hebert (David), and Michel Perkins.

Beloved partner of Vicky Brossette, the love of his life.

Cherished uncle of David Hebert Jr. (Joni), Michael Hebert, Ryan Hebert (Jessica), Lenny Cardinal (Kelly), Vito Cardinal, Blake Perkins, and Megan Perkins.

Proud great-uncle of Hunter, Macie, Royce, Remy, Reed, and Emmie Rose.

We would like to thank all the Hospice nurses and staff for all their kind and loving care for Millard. I Pamela would like to thank my husband David, son Michael and David, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Joni, Pastor Larry, and Vicky Brossette for their loving care, through these last 3 months.
