Mickey J. Higgerson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born in Morgan City on August 29, 1950, to Nora and Charles Higgerson.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine Higgerson; his children, Michele Woll (Joseph), Gilbert “Buddy” Higgerson, Norah Bowling (Kenny), and Michael Higgerson; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Brandon, Taylor, Kennidey, Wesley, Katelynn, Abby, Dylan, and Donna; and his great-grandchildren, Jayden and Joseph. He is also survived by his brothers, Charlie and Thomas, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mickey is proceeded in death by his granddaughter, Michaila Bowling; his parents, Charles and Norah Higgerson, Molly Chaisson, and his siblings, Ronald, Donald, Steve, and Emily.
Mickey J. Higgerson worked on the tugboats of the Mississippi River from the age of 16 until he retired at the age of 69 from Octopus Towing. He was a long-time resident of Bridge City, La.
Mickey will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate if you would consider making a donation to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) in Mickey’s honor.
