Michelina Renee Deterville

Michelina Reneé Deterville, affectionately known as Michie, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 47. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family and many devoted friends. Michie is the youngest daughter of Patricia J. Deterville and the late Raphael J. Deterville Jr. Sister of Raphael J. ‘Ray’ Deterville III (Charla), Stefan E. Deterville (Kimberly), and the late Lisa H. Deterville-Rankin (Derick). Aunt to Brenna G. Rankin, Amaya R. Deterville, Dylan A. Deterville, Bryson G. Rankin, Bradley G. Rankin, Reagan G. Deterville, and McKenna Deterville. Great-aunt to Ezra J. Welch. Couch buddy to furry companion Brownie.  Michie also leaves behind a beloved friend in Lloyd Williams and his daughter Talyiah, with who she shared a very special bond. She was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and attended McDonogh #35 Senior High School and Stevensons Academy of Hair Design. She worked for many years as a nail technician at salons in the city of New Orleans. The work suited her entrepreneurial spirit and nature. It allowed her to be the Boss in many respects. She had a love for baseball and followed the New York Mets since she was a teen. She could sometimes quote stats like a computer and would post memorials to the great players she revered and the accolades for which they were remembered. One of her most cherished memories was a trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 6201 Stratford Pl, New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, March 2^nd from 10AM until 11:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 6201 Stratford PL, Algiers, LA on Saturday, March 2^nd at 11:30AM.
