Michel Huyghues-Despointes entered into eternal rest on June 14, 2026. Beloved husband of Nelly Morel Huyghues-Despointes. Father of Beatrice Huyghues-Despointes (Thomas Cassaro) and Philippe Huyghues-Despointes (Tina). Grandfather of Dominic (Deborah), Adrian, Byron (Kendyl), Cody (Cade), and Hannah. Great-grandfather of Kayden, Alyre, and Remy.  Son of the late Raymond and Paule Huyghues-Despointes. Proceeded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 84 years, a native of Martinique, French West Indies, and longtime resident of Gretna, LA. Michel took great pride in his French heritage and cherished his family in Martinique, remaining closely connected to them throughout his life. He enjoyed sharing his French culture, traditions and family stories  with loved ones.  He will be remembered for his kind nature and loving heart, his legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:30 AM Interment Westlawn Cemetery South, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time.
