Micheal “Mike” Joseph Serpas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the age of 66. He was born in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, on November 5, 1959 to Yona and the late William Serpas, Jr.
He is the fiancee of Anita Galmiche; the father of Kaci Zito (Jimmy), Alli Serpas (Glenn), and Kali LeBlanc (Travis); the grandfather of Landon Zito, Tyler Zito, Beau Abadie, Brixton LeBlanc; brother of Wayne Serpas, Tommy Serpas, Chris Serpas. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
A native of Buras, and resident of Belle Chasse, Mike graduated from Delta Heritage High School, in 1977. Mike began his career as an Auto Mechanic at Serpas Tire Service until Hurricane Katrina. After Hurricane Katrina, Mike began working as a Superintendent for Hard Rock Construction. He was extremely devoted to all areas of work, and even gained employee of the year in 2019, something he was extremely proud of. He gave his all in every aspect of life.
Mike was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time taking his boat out, hunting, working in his man cave, and loved being around his horses and animals “it was his happy place” as he called it. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. Mike was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 8968 Highway 23, Belle Chasse, Louisiana on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11am with visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
