Michael David Toups

Michael David Toups entered into eternal rest on March 24, 2026. Beloved husband of Yvonne Turnage Toups for over 31 years. Father of Dwayne Toups (Natalie) and stepfather of Tiffany Quigley (Dale) and the late Loreto DiGregorio, Jr. Grandfather of Marissa Toups, Keira Toups, and Angelina Quigley. Son of the late Roy Toups, Sr. and Elva C. Toups. Brother of Wanda T. Arocha (late Luis) and the late Roy “Tony” Toups, Jr.  Uncle of Shawn Arocha (Patti-Rae), Brandon Toups, and great-uncle of Stella Arocha. Son in law of the late Rose Judith Toups. Brother-in-law of Marion Pastrana, Gisele Kinler (Timmy), and the late Ronald Merritt, Sr. Lifelong friend of David “Chico” Hernandez. He graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1976. Michael spent his career as a tugboat captain until retirement. He was a good man with a good heart. Captain Mike enjoyed cooking, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing and playing bingo. He always had to watch his morning soap operas before heading out to go anywhere else. He loved betting on his football pools during football season. He didn't care who won, just that he won his pool. He loved cutting his grass and wouldn't let anyone else cut it as long as he was able. He mostly enjoyed having his family around him and will be deeply missed by all, especially his loving wife and his three fur babies, Cosmo, Rosie, and Lulu (his favorite).

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until service time.
