Michael Gabriel Foret October 20, 1963 – May 5, 2026

Michael Gabriel Foret, born and raised in Algiers, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on May 5, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late Adler A. Foret Sr. and Aline Gabriel Foret. Michael was a proud graduate of O. Perry Walker High School and a lifelong resident of Algiers Point.

Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Gayle Foret Halford; his brother, Anthony J. Foret; and his sister-in-law, Kim Foret. He is survived by his sister, Adlea “Tookie” Foret; his brothers, Adler A. Foret Jr. (Darlene) and Kerry T. Foret (Lisa); and his beloved godchild, Olivia Foret Dugan. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

Mike never met a stranger and had a natural gift for making friends wherever he went. He treasured time spent with family and friends and especially loved hosting dinner gatherings, where he proudly shared his famous pork chops and red gravy, peanut butter fudge, and iced tea. He was known for encouraging everyone to “Get ya some more,” and never thought one plate was enough.

A devoted Minnesota Vikings fan, Mike loved sports, animals, plants, music, and was always ready for the next parade. His warmth, kindness, humor, and joyful spirit touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
