Maynard Charles Allen, Jr., “Mac”, passed away after a three-month long health battle on January 27, 2024. He was born in Mount Holly, NJ in 1944. He is proceeded in death by his father, Maynard C. Allen, Sr., mother, Ursula O’Neil, and sister Susan Allen. He is widowed from his wife of 36 years, Drema Ray Allen. He is survived by daughters Amy Allen and Lori Schwab and son-in-law Jeffrey Schwab. He was “Pop Pop” to August Johnson and Finlee Schwab. He is also survived by his younger sister, Ellen Allen, with whom he lived with during his last years in Terrytown, LA. Mac is also survived by a brother-in-law, Bill A. Ray of Covington, LA, sister-in-law Dana Hebert, niece Kerrie Hebert (daughter Alexa Romano) and Brian Hebert (wife Jennifer) of Dallas ,TX as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Mac was a graduate of Holly Cross High School and proudly served in the Louisiana Air National Guard for over 24 years. He retired at the rank of MSGT. After his retirement from the Insurance industry, he volunteered as a docent at the WWII Museum.
Mac was a Catholic and long-time patron at Visitation of our Lady Church in Marrero, LA where he served as an usher and was a member of the Men’s Club.
