Melodie Dempster Tregre

Melodie Dempster Tregre, born Melodie Marie Dempster in January of 1930, was the daughter of the late Melford Eugene Dempster and Leonise Rome Dempster, the sister of Melford E. Dempster and the late Mildred D. Tregre, Rosa D. Klibert, and Velma D. Falgoust. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the tender age of 92.
She was the wife of the late Hebert Joseph Tregre, the mother of the late Allen Joseph Tregre. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Carrie Jane Tregre. Her grandchildren Bridgette Tregre-Stoltz of River Ridge, LA (husband Glynn E. Stoltz) and Joey Allen Tregre of New Orleans, LA (Cindy Hebert) as well as her great granddaughter Gianna Aline Tregre and her great grand-fur baby Vivianna Havana Stoltz.
Melodie was born on Golden Star Plantation in Vacherie, LA. Also in Vacherie is where she met and married her beloved sweet heart Hebert. Once married she left her roots behind for the Big City but Vacherie was always in her heart and a part of her life. Melodie moved to Bridge City, LA, there she began a new life with her husband and raised a family. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed taking vacations with family, going to the casino, baking, gardening, fishing, and of course shopping. She remained living in Bridge City at her family home she built with her husband until her death.
Through the years, she made many friends and touched a lot of hearts. Melodie was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in her life especially her family. She was kind and compassionate and will be missed tremendously by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church located at 13281 Highway 1644, Vacherie, LA.
