Mayola Mary "Ms. May" Digiovanni Cheramie

Mayola Mary “Ms. May” DiGiovanni Cheramie passed away peacefully on January 18, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Former wife of the late Salvador DiGiovanni. Mother of Tammy DiGiovanni Firmin (Paul). Grandmother of Meredith, Whitney, Ingrid, Samuel and Titus. Great-grandmother of Brian “Trey.” Sister of Dorothy Ruttley, Ruby Sperber, Joyce Cheramie, Gloria DiVincenti, Betty Ronquille, Darlene Bianchini, Lee Allen Cheramie (Frances), the late Leo Cheramie, Ernest Cheramie Jr. and Jeffery Cheramie. Daughter of the late Ernest Cheramie Sr. and Theresa Lee Cheramie. Also survived by many loving family members and friends.
Ms. May supported her community working in food services with Jefferson Parish Public Schools. During her years, Ms. May touched many lives with the loving message of Jesus Christ. Her generosity, strength and warm personality will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in Westwego, LA.
