Mavis Edwards Beasley

Mavis Edwards Beasley entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the age of 78.   Beloved wife of the late Virgil Roy Beasley.  Daughter of the late Robert Edwards and Rosalie White Edwards.  Loving mother of Thelma Scruggs (Marty), David Beasley (Julie), Richard Beasley and Timothy Beasley. Beloved Grandmother of Nathan, Anthony, Marcus and the late Wendy.   Great Grandmother to 2 Great Grandchildren.  Loving sister of Debra Rowell and the late Marilyn, Barbara, Glenda and Robert, Jr.   Mavis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  She was born in Columbia, Mississippi and was a resident of Avondale, Louisiana.  She volunteered and donated her time to Jefferson Parish Food Bank for many years and to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Avondale for many years.  She was an avid Saints fan.  The family is asking everyone attending to wear their best Saints attire.  Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5PM until 12 Midnight.  Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 8AM until 11:30AM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:30AM.  Interment will be at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, Louisiana.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
