Matthew "Matt" James Schnexnayder

Matthew “Matt” James Schexnayder passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the age of 65. Beloved son of the late Marie and Roy Schexnayer. Brother of Tammy Bergeron, Kim Schexnayder, Janelle S. Pomes, Sharon Mashrall and Michael C. Schexnayder. Brother- in -law of Barbara Schexnayder, Richard Pomes, and Rosemary Schexnayder. Also survived by nieces and nephews. He attended St Michael Special School where he worked in the St. Michael Joy Center. Matt loved LSU. He may have been their most supportive fan. He wore a LSU Tigers shirt daily. He was a kind and gentle soul who faced many struggles. He never failed to be kind and polite. He was deeply loved and we will miss him dearly. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 11am. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9am until 11am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Please wear LSU gear to the funeral if possible.
