Mary Claire Houlihan Rea passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21st, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on April 2nd, 1938 and raised by her loving mother, the late Mary Bernice Houlihan.

She is the wife of the late Ernest Rea; and the mother of Eddie Rea (Belinda), Michael Rea (Tansy), Danny Rea (Mitzi), and the late Donna Allen. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.

A native of New Orleans, and proud resident of Harvey for over 88 years. Mary's professional career was the office manager for Rea A/C for 51 years.

Mary was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time playing on her computer and doing word search books. However, her true passion was spending time with his/her loving family and friends. Mary was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
