Mary Greeta Parsons

Mary Greeta Parsons, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and devoted wife, peacefully passed away at her home in Gretna, Louisiana, on November 28, 2024, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. 

On September 26, 1937 she was born in West Bay, Grand Cayman. She was the cherished daughter of Roy Ashby Banks and Mary Bodden Banks. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Davis Ashby Banks.

Mary graduated from The Government School in West Bay, Grand Cayman and embarked on a fulfilling career that included working at Maison Blanche and McKenzie's Bakery, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and dedication.

She was happily married for 68 years to her husband, Carlton McKinley Parsons. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and support, raising their family with kindness and a strong sense of values. Mary leaves behind her devoted children, Rhonda Parsons Gagnard (the late Lones, Jr), Kurt Bailey Parsons (Sharon), and Carla Parsons Beebe (William). Her legacy continues through her loving grandchildren: Breanna Beebe Piglia (Cody), Lones James Gagnard, III (Reagan), Crystal, Shannon (Grant), Alisha, Candice, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lennon, Gaige, Savanah, Avery, Adeline, Karley, Lones IV, and Ruby. She is survived by multiple nieces, nephews and friends. 

Mary's gentle spirit and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the values of compassion, strength, and family unity, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones. 

In lieu of flowers Mary Greeta Parsons has requested donations to Gretna Covenant Church. 

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1PM at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100Westbank Expressway, in Harvey, LA. Visitation will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna, LA
