Mary Lou Hingle Everage, of Port Sulphur, LA, passed away on August 28, 2025 at the age of 79.
Mary Lou was born in Port Sulphur, LA on March 6, 1946. She graduated from Port Sulphur High School in 1964 and attended Spencer Business College in New Orleans. After her graduation from Spencer, she worked for Delta Bank (now Regions Bank), Ray Gibbins Certified Oil Field Contractors, Plaquemines Parish School Board, Plaquemines Parish 25th Judicial District Court, and Justice of the Peace District 6, Ward 9.
She was a devout Catholic and was active in St. Patrick Catholic Church as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Catechism Instructor.
She married Morris Wayne Everage on May 22, 1965 and they resided in Port Sulphur from that day until her death. Of their marriage, three sons were born, the late Timothy Paul, Christopher Anthony, and Scott Patrick.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Morris Wayne; sons, Christopher and Scott; brother, James “Jake” Hingle and his wife, Kim; her brother-in-law, Henry Bud Everage and his wife Donna. Loving grandmother of Cody, Camryn, and Destiny
She is preceded in death by her loving son, Timothy Paul; granddaughter, Sophia Grace; sister, Nettie Sue Cosse; brother, John Frederick Hingle; and parents, James “Big Jim” Anthony Hingle and Irene Epsky Hingle.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Hospice Compassus and nurses, Gaile, Wendy, Brook, Tabitha and Carley; and her nurse, Elisa. You are all angels sent from heaven. Thanks to Patio Drugs for the medical equipment and support during this difficult time.
Visitation will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Port Sulphur, LA on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 9am to 12pm, with a Funeral Mass at 12pm. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Mausoleum. Family and friends are then invited to a reception at St. Patrick's Family Life Center.
