Mary Andrea LaRocca Montevecchi

Mary Andrea LaRocca Montevecchi passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on January 28, 1941, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Dr. Henry A. LaRocca and Rosalie Collura LaRocca.
Mary shared a devoted and loving marriage with her husband, Mario Montevecchi. They were married on January 29, 1985, in Japan and celebrated 41 beautiful years together, filled with companionship, adventure, and enduring love.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. S. Henry LaRocca, and her sister, Joanne LaRocca Laumont. Mary is survived by her sister, Ellen Rosalie LaRocca Parrino (Phillip Parrino), as well as her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all of whom she cherished.
Mary lived a vibrant and accomplished life. She worked as a flight attendant for Pan American Airlines for 23 years, where she was known for her grace, professionalism, and caring presence. Her career allowed her to explore the world, fostering her lifelong passion for travel and culture.
A proud graduate of Dominican High School, Class of 1958, Mary went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in botany from Tulane University in New Orleans. Her love of nature was reflected in her passion for gardening, where she found joy and peace among her plants and flowers.
Mary was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and above all, spending meaningful time with her family and friends. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her.
She will be remembered for her elegance, her adventurous heart, and the deep love she shared with those around her. Mary’s legacy lives on in the lives of her family and in the countless memories she created over a lifetime well lived.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 400 Verret Street, Algiers Point, Louisiana on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Memorial Mass will follow.
