Mary C. Grisaffi

May 11, 1953 — June 5, 2026

Gretna

Mary C. Grisaffi, age 73, of Gretna, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with endometrial cancer.

Mary was born on May 11, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Claude and Rose Jones. She later built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Mary shared 48 loving years of marriage with her husband, Gary Grisaffi. Together they built a family that became the center of her world. She was the proud mother of Chris Grisaffi, Corrin Ronquillo, Dominick Grisaffi, and Jamie Grisaffi. She was also a devoted grandmother to Alex Grisaffi, Dominick Ronquillo, Tristan Grisaffi, Jacob Grisaffi, Lily Ronquillo, and Marie-Louise Ronquillo, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Grisaffi; her children and grandchildren; and her sister, April Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Rose Jones, and her brother, Claude Jones.

Mary retired as a Federal Civil Service Purchasing Agent, a career in which she faithfully served her country. However, of all the roles she held in life, none meant more to her than being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Mary was a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, where she sang in the choir for more than thirty years. She had a special devotion to St. Thérèse, "The Little Flower," whose example of faith and love inspired her throughout her life.

Mary believed in helping others. She volunteered at the Villas retirement community, supported the Little Sisters of the Poor, participated in the Red Hat Society, and was a passionate supporter of the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC), an organization whose mission was close to her heart. Whenever help was needed, she willingly volunteered her time and support, reflecting her lifelong commitment to serving others.

Mary was also wonderfully creative. She loved crafting, designing handmade greeting cards, and creating thoughtful gifts for others. Her talents reflected her generous heart and her desire to make people feel remembered, loved, and valued.

Those who knew Mary will remember her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, unwavering loyalty, supportive spirit, and unconditional love. She was a source of comfort, encouragement, and strength to countless people throughout her life. She never stopped believing in the people she loved and always found ways to help those around her.

Above all else, Mary's greatest joy was her family. Nothing made her happier than spending time with the people she loved most.

While her earthly journey has ended, her family finds peace in knowing that her eternal journey with God has begun.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Mary's life will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Service details will be announced once finalized.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC), an organization that was close to Mary's heart and whose mission she passionately supported. Donations may be made through the OAC website at obesityaction.org.

The family asks for continued prayers for Gary and all who loved Mary as they navigate the days ahead.
