Marvin D. Abney, Sr.

Marvin D. Abney Sr. passed away peacefully on May 22, 2017 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Betty LeBlanc Abney. Father of Marvin D. Abney Jr. (Lisa), Denise A. Guccione (Roger) and Bernice A. Gauthier. Granddaddy of Jennifer, Marvin III, Cody, Ryan (Amanda) and Cacie (Jon). Great-granddaddy of Landon Joel Carter. Brother of Jeanne Butler, the late Gordon Abney Jr., Wesley Edward Abney, Frank Leonard Abney, Betty Marie Loyola, Frances Lucille Plaisance and Gail Lucille Champlain. Son of the late Alvin Martin Daffan and Maude Spencer Abney Daffan. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Marvin graduated from Belle Chasse High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years with J. Ray McDermott and following his retirement, worked as a Project Manager/Designer for Project Consulting Services. His forte was his citrus trees. He touched the hearts and lives of so many during his years and while his legacy will live on, he will be sadly missed.
