Mark Joseph Paradelas

February 2, 1967 — May 17, 2026

Mark Joseph Paradelas, age 59, passed away on May 17, 2026. He was born in Marrero, Louisiana, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from John Ehret High School and worked for many years in the marine industry with Stewart & Stevenson, and most recently with A & E Engine and Compression.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Constance (“Connie”) Paradelas. He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter Ashley Proctor (Preston), his grandson Nakoma Smith, his father Glenn Paradelas, and his sister Patti Stringfellow (Dean). He is also survived by his nephew and niece, Eric Burleigh and Kailee Stringfellow, and his bonus granddaughter, Avery Proctor.

Mark was affectionately known to many friends as “brother-in-law.” He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, which were a big part of who he was. Whether in nature or out on the water with his recently purchased boat, he found great joy and peace.

Above all, Mark’s greatest pride and love were for his daughter Ashley and his grandson Nakoma. He was always quick to share their accomplishments—Ashley’s determination and drive to become a pharmacist and Nakoma’s achievement of earning his grey belt in jiu jitsu. Mark was a proud father and grandfather who cherished his family deeply, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Though he is gone, we know that he will never truly leave us and will always be watching over us.

Services will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 5000 Leo Kerner/Lafitte Pkwy, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 5:00 pm.
