Marilyn Dawn Smith May 17, 1932 – September 15, 2026

Marilyn Dawn Smith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at the age of 94. Marilyn was born on May 17, 1932, in Lake George, New York. She lived a life centered around the people she loved most—her family. She will be remembered for her loving heart, kindness, strength, and devotion to those around her. Her family was her greatest joy, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love that will continue through the generations. Marilyn enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved reading, playing bingo, and decorating for every holiday. Her love of decorating brought a special warmth and excitement to her home, as she made each holiday an occasion to celebrate and enjoy with those around her.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John “Smitty” Smith; her parents, John and Mary Syron; her son, Ray M. Smith; her grandson, Aven A. Smith; and her siblings, Jack Syron, Ed Syron, Bob Syron, and Lynn Syron. She is survived by her children, Maryann (Robert) Davis, Mitch (Marsha) Amorginos, John Aven (Pam) Smith, Kathy (Frank) Chisholm, and Teresa (Brent) Deemer; her daughter-in-law, Deborah Smith, widow of her late son, Ray M. Smith; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Margaret “Marge” Syron; and her brother, Joey Syron, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends. Marilyn was blessed with a large and loving family spanning generations. She took great joy and pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and siblings, and in all those who called her Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, and family. The love she gave so freely will live on in the lives of those she leaves behind. Though her family will deeply miss her presence, they can find comfort in the countless memories she created, the traditions she shared, and the love that will forever remain a part of their lives. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be loved and remembered always.
