Marilyn Lapeyronnie Blanchard

Marilyn Lapeyronnie Blanchard, beloved wife of 51 years to the late Charles John "Tee" Blanchard, Sr. went to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2017. She was 87 years old and a life-long resident of Gretna, Louisiana. Loving mother of Sheryl Blanchard Humphreys and husband William, Charles John Blanchard, Jr., the late Stephen Wayne Blanchard and the late Thomas David Blanchard. Also survived by loving, best friend and caregiver, Mahmoud Michael Bahman, numerous nieces and nephews and trusted friend, Carol Hatty Belsome. Daughter of the late Roy August Lapeyronnie and the late Eva Bruce Lapeyronnie. Sister of the late Roy Louis Lapeyronnie, Sr. and the late Elaine Lapeyronnie Centanni. Marilyn was a parishioner at St. Anthony and St. Rosalie Churches and attended mass and prayed the rosary daily. She was a graduate of Gretna High School and attended Louisiana State University. She was an employee of Louisiana Power and Light Company and a retired employee of 39 years with the City of Gretna. Marilyn will always be remembered and cherished as the greatest mother and an incredible friend to many. She will be forever loved and missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 Sixth Street in Gretna on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Mahmoud Michael Bahman, Lewis Ross Centanni, Jr., Adrian Frank LaPeyronnie,III, Glenn Michael LaPeyronnie, Roy Louis Lapeyronnie, Jr. and Edward Morris Melancon, Jr. Interment will follow services in Hook and Ladder Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana. Visitation will take place at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
