Marie "Susie" Huber

Marie “Susie” Huber passed away peacefully at her home on April 18th at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Capt. Gerald E. Huber, Sr. for more than 60 years. Loving mother of the late Gerald “Jerry” Huber, Jr., Rachel Huber Chaisson (Greg), Cindy Huber McCrossen (John), and Branden Everett Huber (Kailyn). Sister of William Dore, Sr., James Dore, Julie Dore Hemingway, and the late Edward “Eddie” Dore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elaine and Advance “Eddie” Dore. Some of her happiest days were spent being a devoted grandmother to: Brittany Chaisson, Kristen Huber Crouell, Emily Chaisson Daigle, Olivia Chaisson, Hunter McCrossen, Hillary Chaisson, Connor McCrossen, Ellie McCrossen and greatgrandchildren: Greyson, Aria, Junior and Everly. Susie was born in New Iberia, LA. She was a resident of Thibodaux for the past 15 years, but spent much of her life on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish. She was best known for her generous spirit and her loving heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends as well as associates with the Crescent River Port Pilots are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, April 22nd beginning at 11 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 pm at the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA.
