Maria Elizabeth Holguin Saavedra

Maria Elizabeth Holguin Saavedra entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the age of 82.  Beloved wife of the late Miguel Angel Saavedra.  Daughter of the late Salvador Holguin and Rita Perez Holguin.  Loving mother of Lucia Saavedra Stanchec (Tom), Maria Saavedra Overland (John), Alberto Saavedra (Kathleen), Adriana Saavedra Carter (Nelson) and the late Luis Miguel Saavedra.  Beloved grandmother of Jonah Overland, Jacob Overland, Alejandro Saavedra, Tatiana Carter, Gaby Stanchec, Nelson Carter, Jr., Noah Saavedra and Michael Stanchec.  Loving Great Grandmother of Lorenzo Carter.  Sister of Celia Pantoja, Guillermina Holguin and the late Yolanda Holguin, Marco Holguin, Nora Nevarez and Chacho Holguin.  Maria is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  She was born in Nuevos Casas Grandes Chihuahua, Mexico and was a resident of Gretna, Louisiana.  She was an active Parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marrero.  Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 6PM until 9PM.  Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11AM until 1:30PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:30PM.  Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com
