Maria Lluesma Bennett

Maria Lluesma Bennett, 91, peacefully passed from this life to the next surrounded by loved ones on July 3rd, 2017.

She lived a colorful life! She was loved by family and friends new and old and will forever remain in our hearts, along with our many fond memories. She was at her happiest when surrounded by loved ones enjoying the amazing dishes she cooked for them or sharing coffee and sweet treats. Being around young children always brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her true love, Henry Marshall Bennett.

She is survived by her three children, Niria (Bennett) Gautreaux (Richard), Henry Marshall Bennett (Becky), Jr. and Julie (Bennett) Navarro (Todd), her five grandchildren, Shelisa Gautreaux (Joe French), Rich Gautreaux (Jennifer), Jessica Smith (Barry), Nick Navarro and Megan Navarro and her nine great grandchildren, Abigail and Clayton French, Matthew, Corinne and Adam Gautreaux, Devon, Roman and Braylon Smith and Krisi Navarro. A special thank you to Marta Munoz for her tireless care of and love for Mema.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home at 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, July 8th, 2017. Visitation will be immediately followed by a Mass and interment at Westlawn Cemetery.
