Margaret Horn Spahr, born on September 16, 1939, in Mayfield, Kentucky, and daughter of the late Alton Horn and Lottie Hainline Horn, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 4, 2025.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Spahr Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bychurch (Shayne); her grandsons, Drew McKinney (Gabrielle) and Bryan Bychurch (Monica); and her beloved great-grandchildren, Brie Ann McKinney, Frankie Bychurch, Dayton McKinney, and Mae McKinney. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, whom she cherished deeply.
Margaret was a devoted member of De Gaulle Drive Church of Christ, where she spent many years teaching Bible school and sharing her faith. She enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a supervisor at BellSouth, serving for over 30 years, and was an active member of the Pioneers, where she expressed her lifelong passion for community service.
A gifted gardener, Margaret found joy in tending her yard and had a deep appreciation for all of God’s living creations. She loved to travel, explore new places, and make cherished memories with family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on December 20, 2025, at De Gaulle Drive Church of Christ, 4700 General De Gaulle Dr., New Orleans, LA. Private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name.
