Margaret Fayers Gregoire, or better known to Family and Friends as Biscuit, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026 surrounded by the love of her Family at the age of 79. She was a native of England who moved to the United States in her early 20’s. She retired as the General Manager of Hurwitz Mintz Furniture, but one of her Greatest Personal accomplishments was attaining her United States Citizenship in 2009.
Margaret was the daughter of the Late Fred Fayers, and Nellie Fayers. She was a Loving sister of Tom Fayers (Silvia), Jim Fayers, and Ruth Hunt. In 2001, following the passing of her first husband James Gregoire Sr., Margaret’s life entered a beautiful and transformative new chapter. In 2004, she united with the absolute love of her life, and devoted companion Mickey O’Connor. Together they shared 18 years of profound happiness, deep devotion, and endless adventure until his passing in 2022. To know her during these years with Mickey was to know a life lived fully and vibrantly. She and Mickey shared a deep passion for traveling and exploring the world together. One of their absolute favorite pastimes was sitting on the dock behind their waterfront home in the evening, sharing a glass of wine, and watching the sunset as the day drew to a close. Margaret was a natural hostess who took immense joy in entertaining. Her home was always a gathering place of warmth and laughter, always open to family and friends. Some of her closest friends were a group of Ladies whom she loved dearly and shared countless memories with. This close circle of lovely ladies referred to their group as “The Slidell Girls Birthday Club” (Peggy Lala, Sandy Deffner, Carrol Hock, Jane Bachiem, Nunny Levis, Barbra Blanchard, Sybil Hebert, and Kathy Schriever.) Margaret was a loving mother to Mary Lou Gregoire, James Gregoire Jr. (Denise), Late Michael Gregoire, and Sean O’Connor Hartman. Grandmother of James Gregoire III (Kailey), TJ Guillot (Jenny), Daniel Gregoire (Becca), Late Elizabeth Gregoire Skaggs, and Taylor Edmonds Gregoire. Great-Grandmother of Roman Gregoire, Rylen Gregoire, Gabriel Skaggs, Caleb Guillot, Amelia Guillot, Blakeley Penouilh, Vincent Gregoire, Dane Gregoire, and Iris Gregoire. Margaret was a loving Mother-in-Law of Denise Gregoire (James), Connie Meyers (Sonny), and Tonyah Edmonds (Wayne). She also loved dearly many Nieces, Nephews, and other family members including the Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren of The Late Mickey O’Conner. On Behalf of the Entire Gregoire Family, we would like to extend a Very Special thank you to Larry and Sue Adams. Who were her neighbors and dearest friends of over 50 years.
