Manuel P. “Manny” or “Toto” Rotolo passed away peacefully on January 14, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Survivors include his beloved wife Gwendolyn; sons, Donnie (Kathy Young), Chris (Ann) and Mark (Briana); grandchildren, Corwin and Colin; sisters, Antoinette Bartolo (Hyman Sr.) and Mary Descant (the late Pete) along with many other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Sarah Culotta Rotolo and sisters, Sylvia Hughes (the late William) and Elizabeth Martin (the late Fallon).
Manny graduated from St. Aloysius High School and later from Tulane University with his degree in Engineering. He worked for Avondale Shipyard as a foreman and later as a bookkeeper/accountant for local businesses. As a businessman and entrepreneur, he owned and co-owned several businesses including Azalea Bingo Hall. He retired from Jefferson Parish Public Schools as a bus driver. Manny was an enthusiastic and dedicated Tulane Booster, never failing to cheer on his alma mater. He loved playing cards, being with family and friends and never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5 PM to 10 PM, resuming at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 600 2nd Avenue in Harvey, LA on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
