Lydia Hingle Jeanfreau, born March 31, 1962, a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Lydia was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Ray James Hingle, Sr. and Tressie Levatino Hingle. She was the devoted wife of Raymond T. Jeanfreau Ill for 46 years and the loving mother of Stefanie Mclemore (Chris), Stacie Radosta (Jeff), Raymond Jeanfreau IV (Amy), and Daniel Jeanfreau Sr. (Lindsey).
She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Breanna Mclemore, Christopher Mclemore, Pyper Stowe, Peyton Stowe, Raymond Jeanfreau V, Emmit Mclemore, Luca Radosta, Daniel Jeanfreau Jr., Lainey Jeanfreau, and Shelley Jeanfreau. She is also survived by her brother, Ray James Hingle Jr. (Sylvia), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will forever remember her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
Lydia was a graduate of Seton Academy in New Orleans. She dedicated several years to serving the youth of her community through the Catholic Youth Organization (C.Y.O.) in Port Sulphur, where she helped guide and mentor young people through faith, fellowship, and service.
A gifted artist, Lydia had a passion for painting and was always exploring different artistic techniques to create her unique masterpieces. Her creativity was an expression of her spirit, and she found great joy in sharing her artwork with family and friends. She especially treasured Christmas, when family traditions, laughter, and spirited Christmas games brought everyone together. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and cherished memories.
Lydia was known for her strength, honesty, and fierce love for her family. She was authentic and compassionate, always offering support, guidance, and encouragement to those she loved. Family was at the center of everything she did, and the values she instilled will continue to live on through future generations.
Above all else, Lydia's greatest accomplishment and deepest joy was her family. Nothing made her happier than having her children and grandchildren gathered. She was the heart of her family, and her greatest happiness came from seeing those she loved together. Her children and grandchildren will forever remember her love, guidance, and the strong family values she instilled in each of them. The memories she created and the lessons she taught will continue to live on through the generations she cherished so dearly.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
