Husband of Clementina Mercado; Father of Elizabeth Mercado and Luis Mercado Jr (Frances Otero-Mercado); Step father of Gerry Amaya (Maritza Amaya), Luis Amaya (Christina Amaya), Melissa Sundell (Eric Sundell) and Mario Amaya (Yanira Amaya); Grand father of Angel Gonzalez, Nicholas Mercado Nathan Mercado, Jacob Amaya, Julio Amaya, Chris Amaya, Eder Amaya, Joshua Holder, Sierra Amaya, Seth Sundell, Alexa Sundell, Hanna Sundell and Brooke Sundell.
He was an active member of the Horeb Church and he will be missed by family, friends and community.
