Lucius Joseph “LJ” Ledet Jr. passed away peacefully with his family at his side on November 13, 2022, at the age of 72. He was born on December 19, 1949, in New Orleans to the late Lucius Joseph Ledet Sr. and Gloria Dragon Ledet. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Fie Yahatta Ledet, his daughter Connie Ledet Matherne (Billy), grandsons Kaleb Matthew Matherne (Brianna), Cade Michael Matherne and all his Extended Family and Friends in New Orleans and Phanom Sarakam, Thailand. He is preceded in death by his parents Lucius Joseph Ledet Sr. and Gloria Dragon Ledet, his siblings Eugene Raymond Ledet and Susan Ledet Roddy. He is also preceded in death by his son Michael Lynn Ledet, and granddaughter Madelyn Nico Matherne. LJ was a graduate of West Jefferson High School. After graduation LJ served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Bangkok, Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed at the Lockheed Martin Marietta NASA Michoud Assembly Facility for 35 years where we worked as a shift manager overseeing the building of the fuel tanks for the Space Shuttle. Those who knew him well know that he loved all things related to the NASA Space Program. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Staff of the Ochsner Cancer Center and Notre Dame Hospice for their love and care given to LJ. A memorial service in honor of LJ will be held at a later date in his second hometown of Phanom Sarakam, Thailand.
