Lucille Rowley Daigle, affectionately known as "Lue," was born on August 9, 1930, in Violet, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully at her home in Algiers, Louisiana, on November 13, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Lue had a remarkable life spanning 94 years, characterized by her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family.
Lue enjoyed her 20 yr career at Touro Infirmary, where she met several lifelong friends. However, her greatest pride and accomplishment lay in her role as the matriarch of her family. Lue was cherished by all who had the privilege to meet her, and her legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched.
Lue was blessed with a close-knit family. She is survived by her daughters Rowley Daigle - (Rafael) and Cresside Woock - (Rob); sons Daryl Daigle - (Sandra), Kendall Daigle-(Mona), and Meric Daigle - (Tammy). She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and cherished great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews who carry forward her spirit of love and generosity.
Preceding Lue in death were her parents, Lucille Corrine Meraux Rowley and Walter J. Rowley, Sr.; her brother Walter J. Rowley, Jr.; and her sister Dorothy Rowley Davis. Lue was also preceded in death by her loving husband Emile J. Daigle and her grandsons Justin and Jordan Daigle.
Lue enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially hosting large family gatherings during every holiday and cherishing annual family vacations with her children and grandchildren. Her spirit of family and love for her family will forever be an integral part of their traditions.
A visitation in honor of Lucille Rowley Daigle will be held on November 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mothe Funeral Home,1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA 70114. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
As we reflect on Lue's life, we celebrate her unwavering love for family, her strength in the face of challenges, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
