LOREDANA PASSARETTI FRIEDMAN surrounded by loving and caring family, left us to be with the Lord on July 4, 2026, after a brief illness, at the age of 79 years. Her suffering is over. Loredana (Lori) was born in Venice, Italy on July 18,1946 in a distinguished Italian family.
Loredana attended school first in Venice and later in Rome, Italy. Loredana commuted to Naples to the Oriental Institute of Language College and graduated in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Loredana taught Spanish and English in Rome, Italy for 23 years. During that time, she traveled through Europe, North Africa, the Netherlands, South America, and the United States to visit her family. Loredana was a lover of art and an accomplished artist, with many wonderful paintings hanging in their house in Gretna, Louisiana.
During one of her many trips to the U.S., she met her loving, caring husband, Terry A. Friedman, a General Contractor and Home Builder and shortly thereafter married him. The marriage lasted 29 years until she passed away from an awful disease.
Loredana and Terry traveled extensively: Italy, Monaco, Austria, also did US travel to Sturgis, SD for many years for Bike Week. Also, they traveled to Florida, Alaska, California, Yosemite National Park, Yellowstone National Park, also New York for the San Gennaro Festival. They loved going to the Italian festivals in Louisiana and the Italian parade in New Orleans. They visited on one of their many trips to Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, Nevada, the Grand Canyon National Park.
Loredana was preceded in death by her mother Bianca Ciardiello, father Polinestre Passaretti and her brother Captain Paride Passaretti of the Carabinieri.
Loredana is survived in the United States by her loving husband, Terry A Friedman; sister, Vilma Passaretti Lilley; her nephew John Renner; and niece, Karen Renner.
In Rome Italy, she is survived by her sister, Liliana Passaretti Fusco; niece Ida Passaretti, nephews Roberto Passaretti, Giovanni Fusco and Roberto Fusco, sister-in-law Conchetta Compasso Passaretti, also, many more great nephews and nieces.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 10 AM to 2 PM. A Memorial Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel.
