Lloyd Leon Thomassie

Lloyd Leon Thomassie entered into eternal rest on April 26, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Wanda Weathers Thomassie. Father of Tara Thomassie Voss (Robert) and the late Troy A. Thomassie. Grandfather of Emily Voss, Lauren Voss, Kevin Thomassie, Carson Thomassie, and Nicholas Thomassie. Great Grandfather of Carly Thomassie. Son of the late Frances Herod Thomassie and Woodrow Thomassie. Brother of Enola Brooks (Michael). Brother in Law to the late Emile (Willie) Weathers. Age75 years, a native of Marrero, and resident of Terrytown, LA. Lloyd was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard where he was stationed in Houma because of his vast knowledge of local waterways. This knowledge served him well as an avid fisherman.  He enjoyed sharing his memories of time spent with family in Idaho and his travels back and forth to LA.  He was also a brave lung cancer survivor. Lloyd was a member of the Happy Few Social Club where he enjoyed countless events through the years and made lifelong friendships. He was a proud and loving family man, especially adoring his grandchildren.  His kindness and love was felt by everyone who ever met or knew him and he will be deeply missed by all.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until mass time.
