Librorio Raymond "Buddy" Palermo

Librorio Raymond “Buddy” Palermo, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dolores Delaune Palermo; parents, Joseph and Josephine Talamo Palermo; siblings, Ciro Palermo and Mary Ann Palermo Stansbury. Buddy is devoted father of 3 daughters, Linda Palermo Lauricella (Robert), Stacey Palermo Trosclair and Joy Palermo Leco (Vincent). He is loving grandfather of Jennifer ( Keith), Terrin ( Walter), Robert III ( Morgan), Charles, Cody ( Victoria), Shelbey and Vincent III”Brother”. He is great grandfather of 8 great- grandchildren. He is brother of Joseph Palermo Jr. He is godfather of Jan, Joseph III and Tammy. He is also survived by his very best friend, Lawrence “Teets” Monfra; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Buddy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Buddy loved and embraced his Italian Heritage and passed this on to his children and grandchildren. His love and support of the annual St. Joseph’s Altar was something he was deeply committed to in his spiritual life. He served in the US Navy, assigned to the USS Melvin during the Korean Conflict. He loved reminiscing about his time in the Navy and all of his travels. After returning home, he worked in the oil field industry for many years. His favorite hobby was gardening and he certainly had a green thumb. Every year his garden and fruit trees would produce a bountiful harvest which he would share with everyone. Once retired, he loved the years he spent helping out at Riverside Salvage. Special thanks to the Talamo family for embracing our father as your own. He loved you so much. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Saturday, July 1, 2017 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM all at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4401 7th Street, Marrero, LA. Interment to follow at our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Mausoleum, Westwego, LA. Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. In charge of arrangements.
