Lester Joseph Orgeron peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Enola Landry Orgeron. Son of the late Joseph Orgeron and Ada Gautreaux Orgeron. Loving father of Robert Joseph Orgeron (Sandra), Glenn John Orgeron (RaMar) and Barbara Orgeron Hakenjos (the late Jerry). Beloved grandfather of Todd Hakenjos (Candace), Trisha Hakenjos Cavalier (Daniel), Nicole Orgeron, Dakota P. Orgeron and Holly N. Orgeron. Great Grandfather of Haley Cavalier, Sayde Cavalier, Griffin Hakenjos, Logan Hakenjos and Carley Cavalier. Brother of the late Wiltz Orgeron, Oral Orgeron, Eugene Orgeron, Bertha Folse, Mathilde Cooper, Agatha Standridge and Ida Perrin. Lester is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong resident of Harvey, LA. Lester served his country while enlisted in the United States Navy. He was President of the USS Mobile Reunion Club, which he served on in World War II. He also served on the USS Princeton during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 222, V.F.W. Post 7307, Elks 2496, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, 1397, Codofil Westbank French Club, 40-8, 201, Knights of Columbus Council 4222, Golden Agers-Belleterre, Infant Jesus Golden Agers and Marrero/Harvey Senior Citizens. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 8AM until 10AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
