Leroy J. Morvant, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Patricia LaGrange Morvant. Son of the late Sidney H. Morvant and Victoria M. Tabor Morvant. Loving father of Daniel G. Morvant (Jon), Leroy J. Morvant, Jr. (Ski), Vickie M. Alleman and Arlene M. Sealy (Tom). Grandfather of S. Adam Alleman, Scott Alleman, Katherine Hustmyre and Todd Hustmyre (Maylin). Great Grandfather of Genevieve. Brother of Ned Morvant and the late Jimmy Morvant. Leroy was born in Chackbay, LA and was a resident of Marrero, LA. While serving his country for 3 years in the United States Army, he served in the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 222, Past State Deputy, Past Grand Knight of St. Thomas More Knights of Columbus, Belle Terre Golden Agers and Msgr. Paul Richard 4th Degree. He served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church. Leroy was also a recipient of the St. Louis Medallion at the St. Louis Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to his devoted caregiver, Debbie Rogers. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, Ames Blvd. and Barataria Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 12PM until 2PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church on Saturday at 2PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
