Leola Gebhard Anderson

Leola Gebhard Anderson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Curtis Lee Anderson; parents, Leo Everette Gebhard and Viola Albertson Gebhard; son-in-law, Dee Richard Matherne; grandson-in-law, Donovan Kilby Logan. She is loving mother of Deborah Anderson Deister ( Paul), Tamara Anderson Abadie ( Wayne), Daniel Robert Anderson ( Marcia) and Pamela Anderson Folse ( Damian) all residing in Luling, Louisiana. She is devoted grandmother of 6 grandchildren, Courteney Alyssa Gaspar (Jonathan), Amanda Lee Logan, Brittany Elizabeth Anderson, Seth Curtis Abadie, Kimberly Elizabeth Collins and Peyton Curtis Anderson. She is loving great grandmother of 3 great grandchildren, Aiden Bradley Lewis, Baileigh Marie Breaux and Ava Marie Anderson. She is beloved sister of Robert Henry Gebhard (Nancy) of Littleton, Colorado. She is sister- in-law of Judy Anderson Peters (Mike) of Mankato, Minnesota. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Angie and John Greene, Casey and Laurel Gebhard, Jennie and John McIndoe, and Blaine Hennen and Darcy Rudell; other family and friends. Leola was born September 17, 1939 in Springfield, Minnesota. She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1957 and married Curtis Lee Anderson of Evan, Minnesota. They made their first home in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. In 1964 they moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and made their final move to Luling, Louisiana in 1972 to follow Curtis’s career. Leola graduated from Minnesota School of Business as a Lab Tech and worked in that field for many years. She mastered bookkeeping at home for several marine companies while raising her children. She went on to work for H&R Block and after 30 years of working tax seasons, she retired as a Premium Director of West Bank District. Her true passion and reason for living was her family and all the activities that surrounded them- social studies and science fairs, band camp, sporting events, concerts, field trips, PTA, cub scouts girl scouts, birthday parties and holiday gatherings. Leola was the house manager, scheduler, driver, party planner and cheer leader for the entire family. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. Leola will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family would like to give a very special thank you to the loving, dedicated and compassionate caregivers, Shelly Domangue, Brittany Anderson and Amanda Logan. Also, we would like to thank Cannon Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM from the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. Her children will take her to her final resting place in Lamberton, Minnesota.
