Leo A. Decareaux, Jr.

Leo A. Decareaux, Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with his loving wife of 58 years, Judy, by his side. A native of Algiers, Louisiana, and a lifelong resident of the Westbank, he lived a life defined by dedication to his family. 

He honorably served his country for four years in the United States Air Force, carrying the values of loyalty and discipline with him throughout his life. Following his military service, he worked at Delta Airlines for 25 years until he retired. An avid pool player, he shared his passion for the game with his sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and countless friends, remaining a highly valued member of his weekly league until the age of 81. 

He was the devoted father of Leo III and Daniel (Dareth). He was the proud grandfather of Joshua, Liam, and Brooke (Alex), all of whom brought immense joy, love, and laughter to his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Leo Sr. and Rita Decareaux. 

Funeral services will be private for the immediate family at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey, Louisiana, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna, Louisiana.
