Lelia Blanchard Matulich entered eternal rest on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Kent Matulich, Sr. for 43 years. Daughter of the late Adam Blanchard and the late Rose Blanchard. Loving and devoted mother of Kent Matulich, Jr. (Penny Matulich), Kerry Matulich Tommeraas (John Tommeraas, Jr.) and Kay Matulich Adams (Kevin Adams, Sr.). Loving Grandmother of Rory Winhorst, Kevin Adams, Jr. (Ellen), Jenny Tommeraas (T.J. Guillot) Katelyn Borden (Brian), Julie Tommeraas, John Tommeraas, III (Emily) and Jacqueline Tommeraas. Loving Great Grandmother of Cali (Seth), Kevin, Brandon, Paris, Caleb, Jacob, Amelia, Oliver, Blakeley, Greenlee, Summer, Leo and Navy. Sister of Evelyn Scivique (the late Carl), Adam Blanchard, Jr. (Ada) and the late Barbara Salvato (the late Lawrence) and the late Oliver Blanchard (the late Gloria). Lelia is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Lelia was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of Harvey, Louisiana. She worked as an X-Ray Technician at the beginning of her married life. She held numerous accounting positions throughout her life as well as a homemaker. She was a Parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church where she taught Sunday School and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also involved in The Golden Ages and Widow’s Group with the parish. Her favorite pastime was spending time with all of her family and spending time and money ($40.00) at Boomtown Casino. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, Louisiana on Saturday, March 28, 2026, beginning at 8:30AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn South Cemetery, 1100 Wright Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana.
