                                                    October 29, 1955 – June 15, 2025

Lee Joseph Cardon, 69, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas—just hours before the passing of his beloved wife of 45 years, Cindy Schmit Cardon who passed on June 16, 2025 [See Cindy’s Obituary]. Their enduring love was so deep, it carried them together into eternity.

Born on October 29, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lee was a proud native of the city he held close to his heart. After Hurricane Katrina, he and Cindy relocated to Texas, where they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and the companionship of their cherished dogs—Cayenne, Ozzy, and Beignet. As a passionate LSU fan, Lee truly bled purple and gold. But more than anything, he was deeply devoted to his wife.

Lee is survived by his siblings: David J. Cardon (Amy), Bruce A. Cardon (Jenny), and Tina Marie Martinez (Alfredo); along with several nieces and nephews whom he cherished dearly, including those from both his and Cindy’s families.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Cardon Sr. and Anna Lee Boudreaux Cardon, and his brother, Robert J. Cardon Jr.

Services will be held jointly for Lee and Cindy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation to be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 9 AM to 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow at the Mothe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.

Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans. He was a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in both Louisiana and Texas. Over the years, he contributed his knowledge and leadership to several firms, including W.H. Linder & Associates, Inc., Star Engineering Services, Inc., and Strategy Engineering and Consulting, LLC. His professionalism, integrity, and work ethic left a lasting impact on all who worked alongside him.

Lee was also the proud owner, President, and CEO of LJC Contractors. His career in the oil and gas industry spanned decades, where he contributed to the design and engineering of numerous interesting projects, many of which were first-of-their-kind in both scale and innovation.

Lee was known for his kind spirit, quick wit, and the generous heart he shared so freely with others. His final act of generosity was the gift of life through organ donation. May those who receive his organs feel the strength of his spirit and the blessing of his kindness. He was a devoted husband, a loyal brother and friend, and a proud dog dad.

Lee will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.

“Real love stories never have endings.” – Richard Bach

The family is deeply grateful to the EMS team, the Fire Department, and the staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital, with special thanks to Taylor W. in ICU, for their extraordinary care and heartfelt compassion for Lee.
