Lawrence J. Rousselle, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Anna Mae Bouno Rousselle by first marriage and the late Shirley Bergeron Rousselle by second marriage. Son of the late Lawrence J. Rousselle, Sr. and Emodeste Treadaway Rousselle. Father of Laure Rousselle, Benedict “Benny” Rousselle, Denis Rousselle, Danny Rousselle, Richard Rousselle and the late baby Lawrence Rousselle, III. Grandfather of Megan, Camrynn, Tara, Tristan, Brynne and Brooke. Great Grandfather of 5 great grandchildren. Brother of Audrey Treadaway. Uncle of Kathey and the late Linda. Lawrence was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of Belle Chasse, Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Navy having served in World War II and Korean War. Upon discharge from the Navy he was a Yeoman, 3rd Class. He was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon. He was a member of the Lions Club of Belle Chasse for many years, a Member of the VFW American Legion Bayhi-Ravey Post of Belle Chasse for 28 years, Charter Member of the Plaquemines Soil and Water Conservation District, serving as Chairman and Vice Chairman from 1985-present, he was the 25th Judicial District Juvenile Officer of Plaquemines Parish for 7 years, Plaquemines Parish School Board Member for over 20 years and served on the Plaquemines Parish Community Action Advisory Board. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 500 Eliza Street, Algiers, Louisiana on Friday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
